Volunteer with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide

Giving back feels good. Especially when it’s for a cause as worthwhile and rewarding as AARP Foundation Tax-Aide.

We’re looking for volunteers who want to make a difference by directly helping people who can’t afford to pay for professional tax preparation — and often miss out on much-needed tax breaks and refunds as a result.

You don’t have to be a tax pro to volunteer with us. Whether you’re looking to stay sharp during retirement, learn new career skills, or simply share experiences with other like-minded volunteers, there are many ways you can help.

Join our team and help your neighbors get the credits and deductions they deserve.

Speak a second language?
Your skill is valued! We need bilingual speakers in all roles, and interpreters who can assist other volunteers.

Good with technology?
Be a technology assistant. Help income tax preparers with computer usage, ensure taxpayer data security, and manage computer equipment.

Love working with people?
Be a facilitator or greeter. Welcome taxpayers as they arrive, schedule appointments, help to organize the tax paperwork and manage the overall flow of service.

Enjoy fine print?
Be a volunteer preparer. Work with taxpayers directly, preparing Federal and New Hampshire returns to find credits and deductions they’ve earned or to seek a refund.

Work from home?
Although we don’t yet know exactly what will happen, the next tax season will find many of our jobs being done from the safety of the homes of our volunteers
